CORNUCHEM – Low Melting Film

What is CORNUCHEM?

CORNUCHEM is an EVA or copolymer film that has been produced by Horn & Bauer Group for many years and has been strongly modified with our own know-how.

It is mainly used in the rubber industry or the packaging of chemicals in crystalline, powdery or liquid from.

Where is CORNUCHEM used?

CORNUCHEM is used worldwide by almost all well-known rubber and tyre manufacturers. In addition, a large part of the plastics processing industry and chemical-technical wholesalers also belong to our customers.

What are the advantages of CORNUCHEM? 

Especially adapted to the customer’s wishes the different material properties offer the possibility to dump the chemical with the bag into the kneader without emptying the bag.

  • the operator does not come into contact with the chemicals

The extremely low melting point of the quality CORNUCHEM 11 creates safety reserves, which are particularly important in the case of technical rubber compounds or high-quality tire rubber.

Due to the flat bottom seam of the CORNUCHEM chemical bag, a residue-free melting of the bags is guaranteed despite the high load capacity.

How do we ensure the quality of our products? 

The ISO 9001 certificate, process-accompanying quality assurance and years of experience, especially in the field of low-melting films, guarantee constant quality. An important point of our quality assurance represents the DSC analysis. The melting behaviour of CORNUCHEM films is precisely controlled here under certain conditions. On request, we can issue a test certificate for each order.

What qualities are available?

CORNUCHEM is supplied in 3 qualities. These form the CORNUCHEM standard programme, whereby the film can be modified according to the customers’ needs and intended application.

Vicat softening point  84°C

Melting point  104°C – Tolerance: -6°C / +3°C

CORNUCHEM 5

Vicat softening point  58°C

Melting point  85°C – Tolerance: -3°C / +5°C

CORNUCHEM 11

Vicat softening point  44°C

Melting point  72°C – Tolerance: -3°C / +3°C

Is printing possible?

Printing according to your specifications is possible on request.

Forms of delivery

  • Flat, half-tubular, tubular or gusseted tubular film for manual or machine packaging 
  • Bag with side seam – loose and on roll with tear-off perforation
  • Bag with bottom seam – loose and roll with tear-off perforation
